Samantha Power Will Concede US Self-determination to the UN, Says John Bolton

Verne Strickland / June 14, 2013
The nomination of Samantha Power to be the next US Ambassador to the United Nations is further evidence that President Obama feels John Bolton on Samantha Power and the UNfreer in his second term to pursue policies that are damaging to American independence, according to John Bolton, who formerly held the position of US Ambassador to the UN himself.
On Thursday's Secure Freedom Radio, Bolton told Frank Gaffney that "I think she is a very accurate reflection of Obama's own views, and as many others have speculated, now that Obama's free from ever having to go before the American public again, he is much more inclined in a second term to engage in this multilateralism, this search for what his Secretary of State, John Kerry, calls in the 2004 election 'America submitting to the global test.' You know, do our foreign policies satisfy the members of the Security Council, can we get their approval before we do anything."
Bolton went on to say that this multilateralism obviously poses a national security risk, but that it also goes beyond that. "It goes to the fundamental question of American sovereignty: Do we decide on issues like the death penalty, gun control, the environment, abortion, you name it? All these things we normally consider issues of domestic debate for our constitutionally democratic system. Or, do we throw all this into the international arena for the membership of the UN to decide what our policies are?"
Bolton and Gaffney discussed a 2003 article in New Republic that Power wrote, in which she compared the United States to Nazi Germany, arguing that both had committed massive human rights violations. Bolton expressed his opinion that "It's obviously anti-American. And it is part of the fashionable tendency among too many inhabitants of the American university community in their stylish, self-congratulatory way, to act in an anti-American fashion. I'm sure in the salons of Europe that article was greeted with sustained applause...It's a world view that says it's America that's 'the problem' in the world, and that we fix 'the problem' by subordinating America."
Bolton believes that remarks Power has made in the past reflect her true feelings, but now that she is up for an important position he expects to see a lot of backpedaling. "I think [the article is] also of a piece with things she has said about Israel and the human rights violations that she thinks Israel's committed. Now, she has tried to back off some of these comments. You know the definition of a gaffe in Washington is telling the truth before you realize the consequences, and I'm sure she'll try to back of several of these controversial things."
His advice for US Senators apposed to Power's nomination is that "it's very important to drill down on this in her confirmation hearing, and the many other things she's undoubtedly said in the dozens if not hundreds of international conferences she's gone to where her anti-Americanism has been manifest."

NC Ritz Cracker Verne Strickland wants to join proud black Gullah Geechees.

WILL THIS UNIQUE AMERICAN BLACK CULTURE SUBMIT TO OBAMA'S DEMANDS?

By Verne Strickland /  Wilmington NC  July 6, 2013
Conservative Christian blogger, Right Side Media Productions & USA DOT COM

I'm a product of the South. Native to Eastern North Carolina, which in the history books, and in my memory, was once a largely agrarian area. I might add that there were also a lot of farms there. Now rural industrialization is changing the economies of the region.

In the summers my parents liked to vacation on the South Atlantic Coast, and sometimes we would go to to South Carolina, where the renowned Myrtle Beach Grand Strand is located, as well as the storied City of Charleston.

My two brothers and I at the time were wee lads, but even then I was a budding history buff. I was entranced by stories of the "Gullah Geechee", a culture of African Americans, which for generations has lived in "the corridor" --  a string of small  isolated coastal barrier island communities, all-black and proud but often impoverished until federal programs intervened only recently.

Note: Gullah Geechee is properly pronounced "Gullah Geechee".

As we neared Charleston, traveling south on U.S. Highway 17, we began to see the first signs of Gullah Geechee people, who erected rickety roadside stands where they sold trademark "sweetgrass baskets" -- simple or elaborate hand-woven creations popular with travelers. They are still there. The products and the people are still popular with the tourists.

I picked up some fascinating background of the Gullah Geechee (or Geechee Gullah) culture from Wikipedia, and the Folk Section of a source called the New Georgia Encyclopedia:

*************************

The Gullah/Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor extends from Wilmington, North Carolina in the north to Jacksonville, Florida, in the south. The National Heritage Area includes roughly 80 barrier islands and continues inland to adjacent coastal counties, defining a region 30 miles inland throughout the United States Low Country.  The cultures represent the many ways that Africans in the Americas maintained their homeland roots while simultaneously assimilating aspects of new cultures they encountered during and after enslavement.
The Gullah/Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor is managed by a federal commission made up of local representatives who collaborate with the National Park Service, Community Partners, grass root organizations and the State historic preservation offices of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
Through research, education and interpretation, the corridor aims to preserve and raise awareness regarding the Gullah/Geechee, among America’s least-known and most unique cultures. Visitors to the southeastern coast of the country have the chance to experience Gullah/Geechee heritage through historic sites, local tours, traditional foods, cultural events, and art galleries.

The Gullah/Geechee are the speakers of the only African American Creole language that developed in the United States – one that combines elements of English and over 30 African dialects.

The Gullahs have struggled to preserve their traditional culture. In 1979, a translation of the New Testament in the Gullah language began.[citation needed] The American Bible Society published De Nyew Testament in 2005. In November 2011, Healin fa de Soul, a five-CD collection of readings from the Gullah Bible was released.[citation needed] This collection includes Scipcha Wa De Bring Healing ("Scripture That Heals") and the Gospel of John (De Good Nyews Bout Jedus Christ Wa John Write). This was also the most extensive collection of Gullah recordings, surpassing those of Lorenzo Dow Turner. The recordings help people develop an interest in the culture because people might not have known how to pronounce some words.[9]

Photograph by Althea SumpterThe Gullahs achieved another victory in 2006 when the U.S. Congress passed the "Gullah/Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Act" that provides $10 million over 10 years for the preservation and interpretation of historic sites relating to Gullah culture.[10] The Heritage Corridor will extend from southern North Carolina to northern Florida. The project will be administered by the US National Park Service with extensive consultation with the Gullah community.

* The Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Management Plan has been approved by the U.S. Interior Department, clearing the way for implementation of projects and programs.
Star-News Wilmington NC) May 13, 2013.

**************************

The Gullah Geechee culture, while admittedly in need, remains proud and independent at times to the point of isolation. But the new federal "Corridor" program, if administered sensitively, should provide welcome and vital assistance.

I am still seeking input on whether or not the culture will be subject to demands of the Obamacare federal boondoggle, and have placed a personal call to Mayor Eulis Willis of Navassa, NC, and an administrator of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Management organization. I will postscript my article as soon as that information is in hand.

Meantime, my guess is that these independent people will fight this "gift" tooth and nail. I hope they do. Information on the impossibly complicated plan indicates that it will be expensive beyond belief and will cause taxes to go up drastically for most who decide to take part.

Based on this belief, I will return to the main premise of my rebellious article. If the Gullah Geechee people are able to stave off Washington, then I, Verne Strickland, a Certified Ritz Cracker, would be proud and thrilled to receive an Honorary Membership to the Order of Gullah Geechee.

And if I get that, I'll come down and visit these wonderful Americans and do some exclusive stories on them, which will reach national audiences through Right Side Media Productions. Deal? That's a solemn pledge. God bless the Gullah Geechee.

Krauthammer on "Obama's Global-Warming Folly" -- What's the Point, Barack?

Verne Strickland / July 5, 2013

Obama’s Global-Warming Folly
No, Mr. President, we don’t need a war on coal.
The economy stagnates. Syria burns. Scandals lap at his feet. China and Russia mock him, even as a “29-year-old hacker” revealed his nation’s spy secrets to the world. How does President Obama respond? With a grandiloquent speech on climate change.

Climate change? It lies at the very bottom of a list of Americans’ concerns (last of 21 — Pew poll). Which means that Obama’s declaration of unilateral American
war on global warming, whatever the cost — and it will be heavy — is either highly visionary or hopelessly solipsistic.

You decide:
Global temperatures have been flat for 16 years — a curious time to unveil a grand, hugely costly, socially disruptive anti-warming program.

Now, this inconvenient finding is not dispositive. It doesn’t mean there is no global warming. But it is something that the very complex global-warming models that Obama naïvely claims represent settled science have trouble explaining. It therefore highlights the president’s presumption in dismissing skeptics as flat-earth know-nothings.
On the contrary. It’s flat-earthers like Obama who refuse to acknowledge the problematic nature of contradictory data. It’s flat-earthers like Obama who cite a recent Alaskan heat wave — a freak event in one place at one time — as presumptive evidence of planetary climate change. It’s flat-earthers like Obama who cite perennial phenomena such as droughts as cosmic retribution for environmental sinfulness.

For the sake of argument, nonetheless, let’s concede that global warming is precisely what Obama thinks it is. Then answer this: What in God’s name is his massive new regulatory and spending program — which begins with a war on coal and ends with billions in more subsidies for new Solyndras — going to do about this ObamaMess?

The U.S. has already radically cut CO2 emissions — more than any country on earth since 2006, according to the International Energy Agency. Emissions today are back down to 1992 levels.

And yet, at the same time, global emissions have gone up. That’s because — surprise! — we don’t control the energy use of the other 96 percent of humankind.

At the heart of Obama’s program are EPA regulations that will make it impossible to open any new coal plant and will systematically shut down existing plants. “Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal,” explained one of Obama’s climate advisers. “On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.”

Net effect: tens of thousands of jobs killed, entire states impoverished. This at a time of chronically and crushingly high unemployment, slow growth, jittery markets, and deep economic uncertainty.

But that’s not the worst of it. This massive self-sacrifice might be worthwhile if it did actually stop global warming and save the planet. What makes the whole idea nuts is that it won’t. This massive self-inflicted economic wound will have no effect on climate change.

The have-nots are rapidly industrializing. As we speak, China and India together are opening one new coal plant every week. We can kill U.S. coal and devastate coal country all we want, but the industrializing third world will more than make up for it. The net effect of the Obama plan will simply be dismantling the U.S. coal industry for shipping abroad.

To think we will get these countries to cooperate is sheer fantasy. We’ve been negotiating climate treaties for 20 years and gotten exactly nowhere. China, India, and the other rising and modernizing countries point out that the West had a 150-year industrial head start that made it rich. They are still poor. And now, just as they are beginning to get rich, we’re telling them to stop dead in their tracks?

Fat chance. Obama imagines he’s going to cajole China into a greenhouse-gas-emissions reduction that will slow its economy, increase energy costs, derail industrialization, and risk enormous social unrest. This from a president who couldn’t even get China to turn over one Edward Snowden to U.S. custody.

I’m not against a global pact to reduce CO2 emissions. Indeed, I favor it. But in the absence of one — and there is no chance of getting one in the foreseeable future — there is no point in America’s committing economic suicide to no effect on climate change, the reversing of which, after all, is the alleged point of the exercise.

For a president to propose this with such aggressive certainty is incomprehensible. It is the starkest of examples of belief that is impervious to evidence. And the word for that is faith, not science.

Communist Party wants to link with Democrats and "Moderate Republicans" to defeat GOP in 2014 -- Lesson for the Tea Party.

Verne Strickland USA DOT COM  July 4, 2013

Here's the game plan of Communist Party USA for 2014. Now you know it. Don't ignore it!

Defeating right-wing extremist candidates is the key link in moving the whole chain of struggle forward. It will take an expansive coalition of voters, including independents, centrists and even some moderate Republicans.

cpusammmmmm

Sam Webb, Chair of the Communist Party USA wants to give the GOP a “Licking” in 2014 and its going to work even more closely with the Democrats to do it.

In his latest message to the Party faithful: “Ingredients for a movement that can transform our country,” Webb outlined Communist Party objectives for the near future.
Speaking of the broad “progressive” alliance with the Communist Party at its center Webb said:
Contrary to what some on the left think, the starting point of transformative politics isn’t political desires and wish list, but a sober and concrete assessment of the balance of class and social forces on the ground, not least of which is the political consciousness of the majority of working-class people and what they are ready to fight for.
How do we accelerate this transition from a movement with transformative potential to a movement with transformative power and capacity?
…a movement with transformative hopes must be up to its ears in the struggle for jobs, a higher minimum wage, immigration reform, gun control, infrastructure renewal, abortion rights, protecting the climate, preserving earned-benefit programs, marriage equality, voting rights, saving public education, reversing the sequester, winning a federal budget favoring people’s needs, cutting the military budget, and many more issues at the federal, state and local level.
It should also be an energetic part of the struggle to give the Republican Party a licking in next year’s congressional elections. Defeating right-wing extremist candidates is the key link in moving the whole chain of struggle forward. It will take an expansive coalition of voters, including independents, centrists and even some moderate Republicans.
To some on the far left, even the Democrats seem too moderate, but the Communist Party understands that victory is impossible without using the Dems (at least temporarily) to push their agenda.
...the Democratic Party has been a necessary, albeit inconsistent, component (at this stage of struggle) of the broad “small d” democratic coalition blocking the imposition of some of the worst features of the extreme right’s agenda, not to mention its more ambitious effort to gain unchallenged dominance over the federal government, thereby enabling the right to impose an authoritarian and austere form of capitalism on the American people.
Moreover, since 2008 the Obama administration has advanced many positive reform initiatives which the movement would be foolish not to welcome and support – the latest of which is the administration’s efforts to curb carbon emissions.

Finally, the mass base of the Democratic Party includes major sections of the people’s movement and a substantial layer of progressive elected representatives who, while not completely happy with the centrist positions of its top leaders, are still not ready to bid goodbye and join a new political/electoral party.
In these circumstances, it would be foolhardy to refuse in advance to cooperate with the Democratic Party as a whole or sections of it under any conditions. That would be a prescription for marginalization.
This lesson should not be lost on the Tea Party, which should seek to be to the GOP what the Communists are to the Democrats.

The Communists understand that they should not abandon the Democrats to pursue a more pure Marxist-Leninist agenda. Using the Democrats may be frustrating, but it magnifies communist influence exponentially, One day it may be opportune to found a new broad based leftist party – but not now

Likewise the Tea Party should not be abandoning the GOP right now, but should be aggressively and overtly taking it over. The Communist Party, a few thousand strong at most, can effectively dictate terms to the Democrats in many areas of the country. Nationally, Democrat policy is actually now mostly Communist Party policy.

Learn from the enemy my patriotic friends. Don’t marginalize yourself, or your opponents will surely win. Use the GOP to advance YOUR agenda. Success is not guaranteed if you do, but failure is guaranteed if you do not.

And there’s a lot more of you than there is of them.

Tea party

GOP Primary Looms in North Carolina Senate Race: Tillis, Brannon Announce Bids

Hagan, a first-term senator, ran ahead of President Barack Obama when he won North Carolina in 2008. This cycle, Hagan is one of the most vulnerable senators seeking re-election.

Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan is a critical target on the GOP’s road map to capture the Senate in 2014, but Republicans’ first major hurdle in North Carolina could come from within their own ranks.

A primary looms for the national GOP’s top recruit, state Speaker Thom Tillis, as a handful of other Tar Heel conservatives consider bids. The result could hurt the GOP nominee’s chances of ousting Hagan in the general election, even if Tillis eventually wins the nod.

Hagan, a first-term senator, ran ahead of President Barack Obama when he won North Carolina in 2008. But in 2012, Mitt Romney carried the state and Republicans had expanded their grip on the state, including in the Legislature. This cycle, Hagan is one of the most vulnerable senators seeking re-election.

Tillis, who announced his candidacy in late May, already has a significant fundraising lead. But he may struggle to marshal conservative support in his own state, and several local Republicans have expressed interest in running as an alternative to him.

Rev. Mark Harris of Charlotte’s First Baptist Church is considering a bid. He is working with Tom Perdue, former campaign strategist for Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., to gauge support for a campaign.

“This [draft] effort is exploding,” Perdue said. “I’ve never seen one move so fast. People are clamoring for a true social and fiscal conservative.”

Harris has started to hire staff and appears close to making his formal entry into politics.

“This is not a campaign yet, but I’m preparing for him to be in the race,” Perdue added.
Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-N.C., is also considering running and recently pushed back her decision time a few weeks, until early July.

“I haven’t quite reached my full decision, but I think I know where I’m leaning,” Ellmers told CQ Roll Call last week.

Rep. Virginia Foxx, a five-term Republican, has said she is considering a Senate bid. Her entry would change the election by pushing Tillis to the right, although Republicans doubt she will run.
“Tillis could probably outspend her, but she could potentially mortally wound him for the general,” one operative said.

State Senate President Phil Berger told Roll Call that he is still seriously considering the primary, but he will wait to formally announce his intentions at the end of the legislative session in July. However, local Republicans do not expect Berger to jeopardize his current leadership position by running.

Greg Brannon, a tea party supporter, was the first to jump into the race and remains the only candidate apart from Tillis to declare his candidacy.

With black violence against white citizens epidemic, young black men should not be profiled, but arrested on sight.

FAMILY PICNIC TURNS TO HORROR THANKS TO BLACK MOB

Woman Pistol Whipped While Trying To Defend Son – Still Pages Of Black Mob Violence Against White’s Goes Unreported By MSM –

Colin Flaherty 6-30-13

As pundits pondered whether calling George Zimmerman a “white a** cracker” was a racial epithet, black mob violence in other parts of the country proceeded apace last week, almost unnoticed.
In Niagara Falls, a black mob of 20 attacked a mother and her family on a picnic. They hurled racial slurs and told them they did not like their “Puerto Rican (expletive) music.”
The Niagara Gazette described what happened next as a “fight,” although many would call it an assault:
“Her son was punched and kicked by several people and fell to the ground. When her son picked himself up, the woman said a man from the group pulled out a pistol and pointed it in her son’s face. She said someone in the group was yelling, ‘Shoot him … shoot him.’
“The woman said the man with the gun, later identified as Dionte D. Dolson, began working the pistol’s slide as if the pistol misfired or didn’t work properly.
“The woman said she ran to her son as she was in fear for his life and Dolson pistol whipped her twice in the head, causing two knots to her head.”
Just Two people were arrested.
Just a few hours earlier a few hundred miles away in Pittsburgh, a mob of black people “savagely beat” a white teenager, then stole his shoes. All on video. All the while screaming “World Star. World Star, ”apparently a reference to popular hip hop website that often features videos of black-mob violence.
District Judge Jim Motznik promised the local CBS affiliate that this kind of violence was over in his town. He “guaranteed it.” Which is of course the same promise other Pittsburgh authorities made when a mob of black people attacked a Pittsburgh teacher last year. That happened two times, actually, with both incidents caught on video. As well as other episodes of black mob violence involving football players at Pitt. And a good old fashioned race riot at a Pittsburgh high school. On video. A few days before and 2,500 miles away, a black mob attacked a white woman in a busy plaza in downtown Seattle. As a dozens of people looked on, doing nothing, at least three black women repeatedly punched and kicked an unidentified woman in the face. Knocking her down, sending her to the hospital streaming blood from her forehead. While their compatriot caught the action on tape. “It’s unbelievably violent and shocking. We need to find the attackers, they need to be arrested,” said a police spokeswoman to KIRO TV news. A curiously similar incident was also captured on video last year in Seattle. A mob of black people beat a hapless bus rider waiting for her ride, this time in front of curiously detached security guards. In Chicago, this episode of black mob violence even has some local police shaking their heads. In the upscale Lakeview neighborhood, a black mob surrounded and beat two men who had pursued and captured the men who stole their iPhones. While they waited for police, “at one point, between 15 and 20 people surrounded one victim as the two alleged attackers continued to beat him,” said the DNA Info news site. “A witness on his way home from a party stumbled upon the scene.” “He was knocked out, completely,” said the 36-year-old witness. “He was on the ground, right by the alley. One guy hit him in the face, and another guy kicked him. It looked like he was going to die or something.”” Two men were charged with assault and “mob action.” Black mob violence is an increasingly common feature of life in that part of town, say members of the Chicago police department. As is its denial at the highest levels of local government and media. Back in Philadelphia on Tuesday, a mob of black people followed a man onto a bus, beat him, kicked him and stomped on, then ran off. All on video. In Milwaukee, a local TV reporter started off her segment on a recent case of black mob violence by saying “most of the people I talked to in the neighborhood say they hadn’t seen a huge fight. Recently.” It might be a bit of a secret to people outside of Milwaukee, but inside that city, locals know it as a place of frequent and intense racial violence. Many of the attacks are on video and documented in “White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence and how the media ignore it.” By Milwaukee standards, this “massive” fight video was tame: Dozens of black people, fighting, creating chaos. No one died. Just a few nights after that, three black women attacked a white female saxophone player at a public place in Milwaukee because they objected to her playing Minnie the Moocher. They said because she was white, they did not want her to play it, reported the local Fox affiliate. Meanwhile, police departments all over the country are getting ready for one of their busiest days of the year for racial violence: The Fourth of July. Last year, more than a dozen cities experienced widespread black mob violence, most after the fireworks were over.
One such place getting ready for the summer is the formerly bucolic Muskegon, Mich. Last Tuesday, according to the Michigan Live website:
“Muskegon Police officers had to use a fogger to disperse a large fight at Fifth Street and Southern Avenue around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, after a couple of males inside the high school gym had been fighting and were kicked out.”
“Officers have had to break up fights around the facility every night since the program started.
“Police were dispatched to the high school on a call of a fight outside the facility around 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20. Patrol officers intervened in a potential large fight between a group outside the school, many of them from the Muskegon Heights area.
“When the group left the high school area and headed back toward Muskegon Heights, patrol officers located the group armed with clubs and concrete that police believe would have been used in some sort of altercation if they hadn’t intervened.”
Muskegon Heights is 75 percent black and the per capita income is $11,000. Commenters to local news sites say the people involved in the mob violence are black.
For the rest of the summer, cops are putting miscreants on notice: They are using pepper spray and other mob control devices to root out the “bad apples.”
In Baltimore, police are promising a “dramatic” increase in law enforcement through the Fourth of July because of a “spree of deadly violence.” Some of it connected to black-mob violence, including one incident last week involving 100 black people fighting and creating chaos.
Police called it a “community altercation,” but did not mention race.
Three people were shot. According to the Baltimore Sun, which often runs editorials criticizing any public official if he or she notices the members of the mob are all black, “Police officials vowed to deploy up to three times the number of officers typically on the streets over the weekend, with the city’s patrol forces being joined by officers from the Maryland State Police, the Maryland Transportation Authority and the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office.”
Black mob violence is a regular feature of life at the upscale Inner Harbor during Fourth of July celebrations over the last ten years.
