Ilario Pantano is leading the race for the Republican nomination
in North Carolina's Seventh Congressional District, according to a new
poll.
According to a release by the CUPVF, which calls itself a Conservative Political Action Committee of Citizens United, Pantano received 46.8% of the vote in the automated poll. Rouzer received 23.4% and Randy Crow finished with 2.3%.
Interesting to note is that 27.5% said they are undecided in the race. CUPVF says the poll included 755 respondents and took place from March 7-9.
Pantano was the 2010 GOP nominee in the Seventh District race. He lost to incumbent Rep. Mike McIntyre in the General Election.
Rouzer is a state senator campaigning in this District for the first time, as a result of the 2011 redistricting plan drawn and passed by the General Assembly.
McIntyre is running for re-election for what would be a ninth term in the House of Representatives.
