Ilario Pantano is leading the race for the Republican nomination in North Carolina's Seventh Congressional District, according to a new poll.
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A new poll released Monday by the Citizens United Political Victory Fund shows Ilario Pantano leading opponent David Rouzer in the race for the Republican nomination in North Carolina's Seventh Congressional District.

According to a release by the CUPVF, which calls itself a Conservative Political Action Committee of Citizens United, Pantano received 46.8% of the vote in the automated poll. Rouzer received 23.4% and Randy Crow finished with 2.3%.

Interesting to note is that 27.5% said they are undecided in the race. CUPVF says the poll included 755 respondents and took place from March 7-9.

Pantano was the 2010 GOP nominee in the Seventh District race. He lost to incumbent Rep. Mike McIntyre in the General Election.

Rouzer is a state senator campaigning in this District for the first time, as a result of the 2011 redistricting plan drawn and passed by the General Assembly.

McIntyre is running for re-election for what would be a ninth term in the House of Representatives.
