SAM WEBB, CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY USA, HAS THROWN HIS SUPPORT BEHIND U.S. PRESIDENT -- A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT. MUST WE ADD THAT?
Our President, Barack Hussein Obama
Spokane Conservative Examiner
The Communist Party USA has endorsed Barack Obama for re-election as President of the United States, according to an article at World Net Daily.
Aaron Klein writes:
Nevertheless, Webb goes on to say that what the country needs is a viable third party.
According to Webb, "neither party is anti-capitalist."
But in his view, the Democratic Party is closer to his ideal than the Republican Party.
Playing the race card, Webb adds:
America was fooled once in 2008 with bumper sticker slogans and meaningless pablum.
Now that voters have experienced life under socialistic policies, it is doubtful they will be fooled again.
But 15 months is an eternity in politics, and anything is possible.

Aaron Klein writes:
While noting he is disappointed with "some aspects" of the Obama administration's domestic and foreign policy, Sam Webb, chairman of the Communist Party USA, threw his support behind Obama's re-election bid.In the article Klein references, Webb writes that he is disappointed "with some aspects of the Obama administration's domestic and foreign policy," and acknowledges "the structural pressures of governing in a capitalist economy and state."
Nevertheless, Webb goes on to say that what the country needs is a viable third party.
According to Webb, "neither party is anti-capitalist."
But in his view, the Democratic Party is closer to his ideal than the Republican Party.
As for the wisdom of a third party, we have always advocated the formation of an independent people's party at the core of which are the working class and labor, racially and nationally oppressed people, women, youth, immigrants, seniors, gay and straight, etc. It is essential for any deep-going social change. But its realization depends on more than our desire, more than our political-ideological attitude. Millions who have to be at the core of this party still operate under the umbrella of the Democratic Party, albeit increasingly in an independent fashion.Webb writes that to separate themselves from the Democrats now would be contrary to their "strategic policy of building maximum unity against right-wing extremism now and in next year's elections."
Playing the race card, Webb adds:
"We are keenly aware of the fact that the agenda of the far right is to bring this administration and country to its knees, with a heavy dose of racism, lies and economic sabotage, setting the stage for a full blown return to power of the most reactionary, racist, anti-labor, anti-women, homophobic and militarist grouping in U.S. politics."Communist Party support of Democrats is nothing new. In last year's midterm elections, the Communist Party worked with unions and other radical organizations to maintain the Democratic Party's stranglehold on Congress, but failed, thanks in large part to the Tea Party:
The Communist Party USA is openly supporting Democrats in the midterm elections. In May, the radical Service Employees International Union (SEIU), marched with Communists in Los Angeles, carrying Communist banners:
More than that, if the CPUSA website is correct, they are actively collaborating with the Democratic National Committee and other groups such as the AFL-CIO, and the President's own group Organizing for America.
Does the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) - the organization that gave $28 million to Barack Obama's Presidential campaign - support communism? The Communist Party also supported Barack Obama during the 2008 election, proclaiming afterward that a number of their policies could be enacted under the Obama Administration. WND reports:
Apparently so, for on May 1 - the day known as the traditional International Workers' Day - thousands of union members, communists, anarchists, socialists and radicals supporting everything from open borders and amnesty to gay rights, marched in Los Angeles.
Immediately following the November 2008 presidential election, WND reported the Communist Party USA mapped out policies crucial for Obama to push through in his first term, including a "single payer" socialist health-care system; laws to make joining a labor union easier; raising the minimum wage and increasing labor union support. No one should be surprised that Communists support Obama - the President himself has openly called for redistribution of wealth, a central theme of Marxism. In his book, Dreams from My Father, Obama admitted seeking out and befriending the most radical Marxists he could find:
In May 2009, WND reported the leader of the Communist Party USA declared that with Obama as president, health care and the economy can be "reformed," U.S. troops can be evacuated from the Middle East, a second stimulus bill can be passed, the criminal justice system can be overhauled and union rights can be expanded.
"All these – and many other things – are within our reach now!" exclaimed Webb in a New York banquet speech for the People's Weekly World, the official newspaper of the Communist Party USA.
To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night, in the dorms, we discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling constraints. We weren't indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated. In practically every speech, Obama talks about his redistributionist policies, falsely claiming that wealthy wage earners do not pay "thier fair share" of taxes despite the actual statistics from his own Treasury Department.
America was fooled once in 2008 with bumper sticker slogans and meaningless pablum.
Now that voters have experienced life under socialistic policies, it is doubtful they will be fooled again.
But 15 months is an eternity in politics, and anything is possible.
