David Rouzer announces that he is back in the running for NC/7 Congressional District seat.

Former state Senator David Rouzer officially announced this week that he will run again in North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District, and released the following statement:

“As I have met and talked with hundreds of people across Southeastern North Carolina, there is no doubt that the citizens of the 7th Congressional District still believe in the Founding principles of individual liberty and economic freedom -- the opportunity to live the American Dream.  The people of this country harness individual talents and a creative genius that will create great prosperity.  They just need a voice – and help getting the federal government out of their way.

Growing up working on our family farm during the summers, I learned the value of hard work – the cornerstone of the American Dream.  I got involved in public service early on because I recognized that America was created for a purpose, and I wanted to do my part to help preserve it.

At a time when Washington is suffocating future generations with a mountain of debt and families are struggling to make ends meet as costs continue to go up, we need members of Congress who will fight for these principles and provide a voice for the greatness of America.  We don’t need politicians who have become addicted to the trips and other perks.  Who have become experts at lip-service and photo-ops back home, but with nothing significant to show for their time in office.

Just as I did as a state legislator in Raleigh, I will fight to cut Washington’s wasteful spending habits, work to get the government off of the backs of our entrepreneurs and small business owners and get our national debt under control so that every individual has the opportunity to be prosperous and achieve the American dream.

Prosperity means the creation of good paying jobs, which is the only way we will generate the tax revenue necessary to address the critical infrastructure needs in our local communities, ensure that Medicare is there for our parents and grandparents, and care for and treat our veterans the way they deserve.

Prosperity also means a strong America – the greatest lamp of liberty mankind has ever known.”
